Tyler, founder of the Willing Canine
My passion has always been about helping dogs feel safer in the human world.
Over the years, I've worked with hundreds of dogs across behaviour, training, welfare and handling. I even spent time as a professional detection dog handler - but I found myself continually drawn to one area: helping dogs feel more comfortable with the care they need throughout their lives.
Cooperative Care combines everything I value: understanding behaviour, building trust, respecting choice, and creating practical skills that make everyday life easier for both dogs and their people.
When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me hanging out with my partner, painting wildlife, or spending time with my two cats and my dog Jedi, who reminds me every day just how powerful patient, thoughtful training can be.

Cooperative Care is about far more than teaching a dog to tolerate handling. It requires an understanding of behaviour, learning, emotions, welfare, and the individual dog in front of you.
My professional qualifications bring these areas together, allowing me to create thoughtful, evidence-based training plans that build trust, reduce stress, and help dogs become willing participants in their own care.
